Attorney Notes of Thomas Schmidt for Save Our Vieux Carré
Thomas Schmidt has been down to City Hall 3 different times, and has requested to see the documents related to the 14 cell towers. Everybody from Safety and permits etc. deny any knowledge of these towers. Thomas Schmidt has drafted Public Records Act Requests to all relevant agencies:
- Dept. Utilities
- Dept. Safety Permits
- Zoning Adm.
- Dept. Property Management
- City Council Communciations Committee
- City of New Orleans Director of Communciations
- City Planning Commission
- City Council Utilities Regulatory Office
He has mailed these Public Records Act Requests outTue. Nov. 27, 2007 by registered cerified return receipt mail. Thomas Schmidt is also going to physically hand deliver these requests.
On Tue., Nov.27, 2007 he reviewed the Vieux Carre Commission files on towers. Permit expires Nov.30, 2007 and he is looking into that issue.
Here are my notes on the file at the Vieux Carre Commission office.
Time-wise, the most significant thing in these notes is that the VCC permit expires on November 30, 2007. It was issued on May 31, 2007 and is good for only six months (depending upon whether construction of the system is going as planned). I do not know whether there is any VCC review process at that time that might be influenced - it seems unlikely - but if so it will happen this week.
The certified mail Public Records Act requests all went out today.
